Resident of Spotsylvania Co. in April '61 he was a 26 year old Lt. in Co. D, 30th Va. Infantry. Had resigned by mid-May '61. Enlisted 13th March '62 in Co. M, 55th Va. Absent sick in hospital as at 1st June '62. Present as at 31st August '62. In hospital with intermittent fever 6th September '62 - 9th September '62 with diarrhoea 8th May '63 - 8th July '63 and with debility, intermittent fever and pneumonia 8th October '63 - Spring '65. Paroled at Appomatox 9th April '65. Was resident at the Robert E. Lee Camp of Confederate Veterans' Soldiers' Home from 29th September 1900 to 19th August 1905. Died 13th October 1907.
